Why Did You Decide
to Become a Dentist?
Dr. Barak believes that patients and their dentists are a team, working together toward the shared goal of
maintaining a healthy, confident smile. Her philosophy centers around preventative care and conservative
dentistry, with an emphasis on patient education. She believes that patients should understand their oral health
and treatment options so they can feel confident making informed decisions about their care.
Compassion and attention to detail are at the core of Dr. Barak’s approach. One of the most rewarding aspects of
dentistry for her is helping patients overcome dental anxiety and creating an environment where they feel
comfortable, heard, and never judged. She especially enjoys getting to know her patients over time and
developing relationships that extend beyond the dental chair.
Where Did You
Study Dentistry?
Dr. Barak earned her dental degree from Rutgers School of Dental Medicine in New Jersey and
completed her
General Practice Residency at St. Barnabas Hospital in the Bronx. During her training, she gained
experience in
a wide range of dentistry, including restorative and cosmetic dentistry, endodontics, oral surgery,
and
pediatric care. She enjoys the variety of general dentistry and the opportunity to combine her
clinical skills
with the artistic aspects of cosmetic and restorative treatment.
Although Dr. Barak is originally from Los Angeles, she spent several years on the East Coast for her
undergraduate education, dental school, and residency. While she loved her time on the East Coast,
Los Angeles
always felt like home, and she is excited to be back in the city she loves and to build her career
here.
Outside of the Dental Office,
What Do You Like to Do?
Outside of the office, Dr. Barak loves spending time with her family and friends, going to concerts, hiking,
practicing yoga, and exploring her love of art. She is grateful to be back in Los Angeles and enjoys taking
advantage of everything the city has to offer.
